Alternative Medicine Might Help Cancer Patients

by Melissa Pang, Asia News Network (The Straits Times) | Thu, 06/14/2012 10:21 AM

A local study conducted by National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) covering 357 cancer patients finds that patients using complementary therapies including supplements and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), have fewer infections than those who do not.

Findings on patients using complementary therapies:

46.3% of non-users came down with infections against 34.4% of users

22.2% of non-users with infections required hospitalization against 14.4% of users

42.6% of non-users required anti-biotics against 32.3% of users

The most significant findingis that there is no decline in patients' kidney and liver functions as a result of taking complementary therapies along with the cancer treatments.

This is what typically concerns doctors, because these organs, if compromised, cannot process and rid the body of the toxins from the chemotherapy drugs.

Composition of Supplements and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

· Herbs, Ginseng, Lingzhi, Cordyceps
· Barley Green, Bird's Nest, Essence of Chicken
· Organic Vegetables and Fruits
· Minerals and Vitamins

My Comment

When people did not see it, they choose not to believe it. And when something happens if it cannot be explained, it can always be attributable to “Miracles do happen”.
Again, when something happened, there are people who wanted more statistics, saying statistics over a larger population and different population groups is more significant.
Sometimes we fail to understand one point, if the person is someone close at heart to us, it doesn’t matter to me whether he/she is 1/100 or 1/1000. He/She is the ONLY ONE that matters to me.
